Frequently asked questions

The basics

What is Telure?

A system of record for the work that keeps climbing facilities safe: daily checks walked with a phone, recurring maintenance that escalates instead of slipping, recall monitoring against your registered equipment, and incident documentation that freezes history the moment it matters. Everything lands in one tamper-evident ledger.

What does it cost?

$99 per facility per month — every module, unlimited staff, unlimited exports. The trial is 30 days with everything included; a card is added at the end of setup and nothing is charged until the trial ends.

Can I see it before signing up?

Yes — the demo opens a fictional gym seeded with realistic records, read-only, no account needed. You can even run the QR mobile check flow; the only thing the demo won’t do is record to the permanent ledger.

Does Telure certify that my facility or equipment is safe?

No, and it never claims to. Telure records what your qualified staff observed and when. It doesn't perform inspections, doesn't determine that anything is safe or compliant, and never replaces the manufacturer's documentation — which governs all equipment intervals.

The record

Can a record be edited or deleted?

No — by anyone, at any permission level, including Telure's own support. That constraint is enforced at the database level. Corrections are made as new amendment entries that reference the original; the original stays visible, and the full amendment history appears in the interface and in exports.

What if a check gets skipped?

The gap shows. Exports display periods with no recorded activity as gaps rather than hiding them — an honest record is the whole point, and a clean month means more when a missed Saturday would have shown.

Does it work offline?

Capture does. Checks recorded while a device is offline sync when the connection returns, and the record keeps both timestamps — when the observation was captured and when it reached the server — so an offline gap is visible rather than hidden.

What do I hand my insurer?

A dated, paginated PDF export for any period: gaps reported explicitly, amendment history included, per-item attribution shown, integrity verification and your CWA alignment status printed on the cover.

What happens to my records if I cancel?

They stay readable and exportable for one year after termination, and you can generate a complete export any time before or during that window. Telure is designed so leaving never means losing your history — but export discipline is yours: keep your own copies.

Day to day

How does front-desk mode work?

A shared station display stays signed in for viewing schedules and task lists — but it can't record anything by itself. Whoever does the work enters their own PIN, the entry is attributed to them, and the authorization expires on its own just under an hour later. Shift changes without password juggling; attribution without shared accounts.

Do my staff need email addresses?

Only managers — email is how they sign in. Staff-tier roles are PIN-only by default; during setup you decide, role by role, whether a role keeps an email on file for task reminders.

Can staff fill out checks on their phones?

Yes. Starting a check shows a QR code; staff scan it, enter their PIN on their phone, and fill items as they walk the facility — several people at once, live, with every answer attributed to whoever gave it.

Can different roles have their own checks?

Yes — role checklists. Routesetters get their holds-drills-and-ladders walk-through, coaches their training-gear count, each with its own card on Today and its own daily status. Create them in Settings → Checklists.

CWA and recalls

What is CWA alignment?

An opt-in during setup (or later, in Settings) that adds recurring inspections and reviews aligned with the Climbing Wall Association's Industry Practices (4th Edition), shaped to your facility type. It's a documented program, not a certification — and a documented, CWA-aligned program can factor favorably into insurance underwriting.

What if a CWA inspection doesn't apply to my facility?

Turn it off — with a documented reason. A gym with no rental fleet drops the rental inspection and says why; the exception is recorded, shown in Settings, and printed on exports next to the alignment status. Insurers see exactly where you stand, which is worth more than an unexplained gap.

How does recall monitoring work?

Telure polls public recall data — primarily the CPSC feed — daily and compares published serial ranges and model names against equipment you've registered, flagging matches for review. It also shows every climbing-equipment notice it has ingested, whether or not it matches your registry. It is not a substitute for registering equipment with manufacturers and monitoring their notices directly.
